ISO/ISO reductions

Basic reduction type enabling transition from a bigger dimension of ISO cone to a smaller ISO dimension.

Reductions are manufactured in compliance with valid ISO standards, with an additional lock preventing the reduction from dropping from horizontal spindle head or from lifting together with a tool in vertical type of the spindle head.

An ISO test bar is recommended to be purchased for every reduction. The bar is fitted with an edge with evaluation parameters of X coordinate (tool diameter) and Z (tool length). These specifications determine the beginning of reduction coordinates.

A calibration laboratory checks the coordinates.

Calibrated test bar has two functions. First, it ensures very accurate setting of the coordinate beginning, based on real dimensions situated to the tool setting area. Second, it represents a test bar – primary standard, ensuring connection to national standards when assuring ISO standard functions. If a reduction is used, the effective length of Z coordinate is shortened. With reductions of steep cones the shortening is 32 mm.
